Parents

We very much encourage parents to be actively involved in the Playgroup both informally and formally.

A key involvement with parents is the informal daily communication between our teachers and parents at “meet and greet” and collection times. The managers and staff will ensure that any issues are addressed at this stage.

In addition more formal interactions between parents and the Playgroup also take place during the year including:

  • An unambiguous open door policy where parents are welcome to enter the Playgroup at any time their child is in attendance
  • Day 1 support (may last a bit longer than a day) when your child is going through the period of settling into the Playgroup. Be assured that your child will settle! We guarantee that we would NEVER leave a child upset in the Playgroup for any significant time and will always contact you if there are issues
  • Parents are more than welcome to come along on the outings from Playgroup – particularly our Christmas outing and the summer trip to the farm where your support is very useful
  • The Playgroup carries out 3 formal reports/observations on your child during the Playgroup year assessing their development. These observations will be forwarded to parents for their information, signature and return. Please be absolutely assured that the Playgroup will contact you if they have any concerns about your child’s on-going development at any stage during the year
